Product detailed description
The Cat Guide: your space is yours to define
A cat comes closer when it chooses to. It can be sociable or solitary, playful or quiet, moving naturally between the two.
For us, this makes the cat a symbol of independence, healthy boundaries and trust in your own needs. It is a reminder that you do not have to be constantly available to everyone around you, and that keeping your own space does not mean rejecting others.
Natural Baltic amber gives the pendant warmth and a soft glow, while the sterling silver cat adds a playful yet elegant character. Every piece of amber has its own colour, pattern and natural features, making each pendant unique.
The Cat Pendant can be a meaningful piece for a cat lover, or a personal reminder that closeness and independence can comfortably exist together.
The Cat truth:
Being close to others does not mean losing yourself.
Material:
- Natural Baltic amber
- Sterling Silver Ag 925/1000
If you have the pendant as a gift, you don't have to worry about the gift wrapping anymore.
The colours in the photo may vary slightly from the actual colors depending on your monitor or screen settings.
What is amber
Baltic amber, also called succinite, comes from various species of the now extinct conifer Pinus succinifera. There are estimated to be up to around 350 species of conifer. Baltic amber has the highest proportion of succinic acid of all the species. It accounts for up to 8 % of its total weight. It is also to succinic acid that the health benefits of amber are attributed. It is also supposed to calm the mind and promote the ability to concentrate.
The richest deposits are estimated to be in the Kaliningrad region, as well as in northern Poland, Lithuania and along the Baltic coast. Its age is estimated at approximately 28 to 54 million years. It is older than the Baltic Sea itself.
Baltic amber tends to be transparent, semi-transparent or completely opaque under a yellow-brown layer of oxidised crust, called milky. It offers a wide range of colours, from snow-white to beige, lemon yellow, honey, orange, red and brown. The Polish scientist Adam Chetnik, in his Little Dictionary of Amber Varieties, defined around 200 variations.
But the variety of colours and forms of this organic gemstone does not end there. If you are interested in the world of amber, read more about it here.
