Moldavite is a stone native to the Czech Republic. Its name is derived from the Vltava River. In other languages, it is called Moldavite, because the meteorite from which this gemstone originated fell near the German border, and since the Czech name is derived from the German word Moldau—Vltava—the name was adopted. The first discoveries of moldavite are attributed to South Bohemia.
Vltavine is a deep green color and has a characteristic wrinkled structure.
